Title: Automating computational workflows with make and makefiles

Tired of having to rerun everything when a reviewer asks for one small change?
Makefiles may hold the solution to your problems! Makefiles explicitly keep
track of the prerequisites in your analysis so that you don’t have to. When a
makefile is run, your analysis is run in the most efficient way possible.
Rather than rerunning all scripts, only the scripts and outputs which depend
on recent changes are run. In this workshop I will cover the basics of how to
automate your computational analysis with makefiles and then apply that
knowledge to a series of R scripts.
